The Covid-19 vaccination activity for children in Jakarta aged 12-17 years began to be implemented yesterday, July 1. Therefore, Jakarta has acted quickly to hold vaccination activities for children aged 12-17 years in several schools using the Sinovac vaccine produced by PT Biofarma.
On the second day of vaccination, Jakarta Vice Governor Ahmad Riza Patria had the opportunity to review its implementation at SMKN 51 and MAN 2, East Jakarta, on Friday (7/2).

The first dose itself has touched 4,498,251 and the second dose has touched 1,924,850, the total vaccine we have received is 6,500,000 doses of vaccine," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.
He went on to say that the acceleration of vaccination in Jakarta was one of the ways the government could stop the spread of Covid-19 in Jakarta. "Alhamdulillah, we have exceeded the target according to Mr. Jokowi's request for Jakarta to hit the target of 100,000 people every day, we can reach 135-158,000 per day," he stated.
He then urged the whole community not to be afraid of being vaccinated. He hoped all parents could give permission or register their children for vaccination. "Don't be afraid, this is halal and safe. If there are side effects, we have prepared the treatment. So register immediately, coordinate with the local Puskesmas, RT/RW, offices where we work or schools to get vaccines," he explained.
He also appreciated school’s principals or madrasah teacher and students who had enthusiastically participated in the child vaccination. Similar expression also given to puskesmas or local public health facilities that had smoothen it.
As for the information, vaccination for children has also passed through a review process with the health team, as well as feasibility test for vaccine type Sinovac through the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM), thus the dose is appropriate for children.
